When a pimple is ready

A pimple is only ready to be ‘popped’ when it shows a white head. In response to inflammation, your skin walls off the dead cells, pus and bacteria – all these will be gathered into a pustule. This is the only time when the pimple can be ‘popped’. Using a clean needle, gently prick the tip of the pimple.

If it is ready, the pus will ooze out and you can clean out the area around the pimple carefully.

If nothing happens, leave it for at least half a day. Do not prick it again.
