The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has an endowment of almost 27 billion dollars, and is dedicated to many global causes: access to technology, health, fight against AIDs, education. In the words of Bill Gates, “We must marshal the will and resources necessary to develop and distribute an Aids vaccine”. With 7.1 billion in grants since 1994 and an average grant of $900,000, many organizations around the world have benefited from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Its single largest grant to date (1 billion dollars) went to the United Negro College Fund.

More impactful and significant global initiatives include the Global Health Program, the Global Development Program and the United States Program.
