Romanee Conti
Burgundy, France
Romanee-Conti began in the 15th century. The Saint-Viviant monks there selected grapes that were distinctive. As Aubert de Vilaine says, “We are the keeper of a certain philosophy of wine, and, mainly, we are concerned by the perfection in details”. Wine from Romanee Conti is the fruit of the meticulous care and the subtle blend of climate, soil and grape. This winery is best known for its legendary 1937 vintage.
Chateau Margaux
France
Founded in the 1400s, Chateau Margaux was once the residence of Edward III, the King of England. Centuries later, in 1977, Laura and Andre Mentzelopoulos purchased the property and spent a large sum of money to upgrade the vineyards. Nonetheless, the Chateau Margaux 1900 is perhaps the finest vintage, with the 1978 vintage coming a close second.
