Ergonomics Posture

Ergonomics Posture. Dramatically increase your workplace productivity by improving your posture and ergonomics.

What is Ergonomics

Ergonomics is a measure of how you adapt to your workplace environment. Good posture is crucial to avoid to most common problems: neck, back or wrist pain. Ergonomic office chair and ergonomic posture chairs can also help correct problems.

Ergonomics Tips

Here are some of the most important tips to ensure that you always maintain a good posture.

1. Bend at your hips and not at your spine

Pay attention to this carefully and correct your sitting position now. When you sit at your office chair, your lower back should be straight, centered and far back in the chair. Then gently put your upper body against the back of the seat, so your spine is kept straight all the time!

2. Cross your ankles instead of your knees

Try to avoid crossing your knees, as doing so will misalign your pelvis, leading to back tension and pain if you hold that position for too long. Similarly, keep your feet flat on the floor as far as possible.

3. Balance your torso

This is a technique also taught in Kundalini yoga. Gently sway your torso to the left, then right several times before allowing it to return to its true centre. Inhale left, exhale right. Then sway it front and back before allowing it to return to its true centre. Inhale front, exhale back.

4. Get up from your chair every half an hour

Regardless of what you are working on, get up from your chair every half an hour to do something else. Just a light stretch, or a toilet break. Or do the instant calming sequence once through.

5. Rest your feet firmly on the floor in front of you

When your feet is rested firmly on the floor in front of you, your posture naturally improves as you would be forced to sit upright.

6. Position your keyboard and mouse so your arms fall naturally

Position your keyboard and mouse close to the edge of the desk. This will allow your arms to fall naturally at your sides, with your wrist straight while typing. Get a gel pad or wrist support if necessary.

Ergonomic Posture Chairs

For even better ergonomics posture: An ergonomic office chair promotes good posture and reduces the likelihood of developing repetitive stress injuries such as the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
