How to Make Affirmations
How to make affirmations? In order to write the most powerful affirmations, you must use clear, strong words, write in the present tense, and be positive.
Focus on what you want rather than what you don’t want. Don’t say, ‘I don’t want to be in debt and broke’; turn it around to ‘I am wealthy and happy’. Subconsciously, the first and the second affirmations trigger very different emotions and thoughts. When you focus on the negative, the negative just doesn’t seem to go away – simply because you are putting so much attention on it. When you focus on the positive, more of the positive will manifest, while the negative will gradually fade away.
How to make Affirmations Work
Whatever you say to yourself over and over again will eventually become your reality. Repeat your affirmations at every convenient moment: just before you go to sleep, when you are standing in line for the next train, waiting for the elevator, or washing your hands in the restroom.
When you focus your subconscious mind on your affirmations, the Law of Attraction will draw people, circumstances and events that relate to your most dominant thoughts. Unfortunately, this is a sword that cuts both ways. If you have been thinking wealth, people, circumstances and events that bring you more wealth will appear. If you have been thinking debt, people, circumstances and events that only seem to make you more broke will appear.
Short One-Sentence Affirmations
Does the affirmation have to be a short, one-sentence affirmation? Generally, short affirmations deliver the most powerful impact. They are also easier to remember; you can easily repeat them like mantras throughout the day.
On the other hand, some people prefer paragraph-long affirmations. These give you room to add vivid descriptive details, which evoke more emotions and thus would also be very powerful. If in doubt, go for a mix of the two – you can decide later on, depending on which one leaves you feeling more inspired and energetic.
